 Hmm... maybe.

 I have:

$ ls -l ~/.gnome2
total 20
-rw-r--r--    1 marcelo  marcelo        53 Oct  2 22:28 Mergeant
drwx--S---    2 marcelo  marcelo      4096 Sep  4 10:08 accels
-rw-r--r--    1 marcelo  marcelo       276 Aug 24 10:36 bug-buddy
drwx--S---    3 marcelo  marcelo      4096 Aug 24 10:33 bug-buddy.d
-rw-r--r--    1 marcelo  marcelo        43 Oct  1 00:02 totem

 in ~/.gnome I have a lot more of stuff. It might make sense if you
 think of users moving from woody to sarge, but it's not particularly
 useful for people using testing. (Nor is it nice for people who don't
 use gnome-session -- but I guess those people are on our own :-).
