G2 broken for me (completely)

Hi,

those where the happy days when I still could configure my system with
reading some manual pages and using a text editor...

Anyway, I currently broke Gnome2 completely: even gedit aborts with
segv. I'm running bleeding edge Gnome2 from unstable/experimental.
Because gnumeric had font problems (which I couldn't figure out because
I'm lost in all those config files and directories), I stopped X, moved
~/.gconf* and ~/.gnome* to a save place and restarted X. Result:
gnome-panel aborted with segv. Then I started X with xterm in .xsession
(which works). I can run sawfish, evo, mozilla-snapshot, but not
gnome-panel or gedit. Any idea what's going on or how to get out of
this trap?

I append an strace tail from gedit and a partial package list. Anything
else? (BTW, I set GNOME_DISABLE_CRASH_DIALOG=1 because gnome_segv2 also
crashes).

Thanks a bunch

	Norbert
