The trouble is, and I apologise for harping on this, that the strategy
you're persuing doesn't take any of the problems with integration and user
choice into account.
I'm 100% GNOME 2, but I understand all of the integration issues because I
know 1.x and 2.x intimately. Real Users don't, and I wouldn't expect them to
worry about this.
It's nothing to do with the purpose of 'unstable' - it's really basic, down
to Earth, "is this a benefit to users?" stuff. Replacing any/every GNOME 1.x
component with it's 2.x version, at this stage, is *NOT* a benefit to Real
Users. It's a pretty significant pain in the arse, if anything.
I'm really disappointed that you guys, especially Christian [1], are
refusing to listen to upstream advice on this one.
