You need to wait for the next gnome-libs, whom fix the gnome-config script
(see bug #88531) (I hope I can't test, and I don't want to play with packages in incoming).

For Gnome 1.4 beta2:

I'll upload these packages :

gnome-applets 1.3.1
gnome-core 1.3.1
gnome-control-center 1.2.4

All these packages are only bugs fix.
