First of all, thanks for reading through several of my MRs and
proposals and participating in the discussion.
I followers of this mailing list have seen, I am intentionally
proceeding with these workflow changes slowly (in fact now 3rd month
in progress) so that everyone has time to voice their opinion, and we
can work towards having as much consensus as possible. We might not
reach 100% consensus on everything, but it is important that everyone
feel their views have been heard (read) and considered, and the plan
adjusted to accommodate for as many as possible.
Also note that the purpose of the guidelines is mainly to agree about
best practices on team level so that people who want to collaborate
can focus on actual packaging instead of debating every day on what
git HEAD should point to or if we should use wrap-and-sort -at or -ast
and so forth. The guidelines don't actually have any enforcement
built-in, and even as of today many packages and maintainers choose to
deviate from it for their own reasons, and maintainers are free to do
that as long as they continue to maintain the package.
I will now postpone doing the upload by a week, and engage in the
three comment threads you started today.
