Re: Requesting Access to Salsa Debian Go Group and Contribution Interest

Hi,

It's great that you want to package docker compose v2! It is in my todo list for forky (as it stands anyway), but I expect it to be quite a lot of work and seeing more interested people who already have a lot of experience in similar cases is nice :) I raised this in the go team BoF at the previous debconf, and iirc at least Arthur Diniz was interested in the same, as he is working quite hard to manage the kubernetes ecosystem related tooling. I think Reinhard was also interested, recalling one of our previous talks, if my memory serves me right. In general, with how widespread the usage of compose v2 is, it'd be very useful for the users if we can package it.

PS: I think I remember someone filing an RFP for docker compose v2, but I am not sure if anyone started working on it yet.

Best,
Ananthu

Hello Go packaging Team,

I am writing to request access to the Salsa Debian Go group page: https://salsa.debian.org/go-team/

I am interested in contributing to the addition of new Go packages required for Docker-compose V2 and potentially upgrading the deprecated Docker-compose V1 package.

I previously worked on updating Docker from version v20.10 to v26.1.5. My commits were accepted, and I also provided changes for updating some Go packages required by Docker 26 and above.

I look forward to your approval.

Thanks & Regards,

Badrikesh
