glibc fails to cross build from source. An arch-only build log (using
DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nocheck to speed things up) on amd64 ends with:

A certain coincidence with the debhelper/11.3.5 upload cannot be ruled
out. debhelper maintainers Cced.

A timely fix is appreciated as this breaks bootstrap QA.
