Bug#714286: FTBFS on amd64 and ia64: Breaking multi-arch installations of (e.g.) i386 binary packages

Package: libc6
Version: 2.17-5
Severity: serious

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

There are FTBFSes of the recent version 2.17-6 for amd64 and ia64. Thus I
cannot install any binary package from the i386 architecture because the
versions of libc6 in i386 and amd64 are different.

~$ LANG=C sudo apt-get install libc6:i386

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libc6 : Depends: libgcc1 but it is not going to be installed
Breaks: libc6:i386 (!= 2.17-5) but 2.17-6 is to be installed
 libc6:i386 : Breaks: libc6 (!= 2.17-6) but 2.17-5 is to be installed
[..]

I didn't find any bug report about this and also no sign in the subversion
repository, that this issue is currently handled by the package maintainer(s).
Therefor I open this report.

Regards, Daniel
