Bug#555168: Unclear license situation for (e)glibc locales provided by you

Let's hope you can reach Neskie Manuel who is, IIRC, the author of
many locales for Aboriginal languages of North America.

It's quite some time since I heard from him, though (about 2 years).

Quoting Helge Kreutzmann (debian@helgefjell.de):
Hello,
you are listed as contact person/author of the following locale:

shs_CA

This locale comes with a statement

% Distribution and use is free, also
% for commercial purposes.

Thus it does not allow modification; it is unclear, however, if this
statement was meant as a license.

I'm sorry to inform you that Neskie Manuel passed away in 2011 [1].

I'm sure that Neskie would have wanted his work to have a free license.
However, I'm merely an acquaintance and don't have any legal standing.

I don't know how this can be moved forward, but at least now you won't be waiting for a response from Neskie.

Thanks,
Ryan
