Since libraries installed via cmake-generated build systems using 
GNUInstallDirs on 64-bit systems are placed in 
/usr/local/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu, that directory should be included in the list 
of directories scanned by ldconfig (either by adding it to 
/etc/ld.so.conf.d/x86_64-linux-gnu.conf, or as a separate file, e.g. 
/etc/ld.so.conf.d/x86_64-linux-gnu-local.conf).
