This is always what we do after a stable version of Debian is released.

This reasoning is for Fedora, it doesn't apply to Debian. Not everybody
runs udev, especially when you use chroot. We must be able to run a
wheezy/sid chroot on a lenny installation, so the new minimum kernel
version will be 2.6.26.
