Bug#584914: libc6: compat in nsswitch.conf not getting nis groups
Package: libc6
Version: 2.11.1-2
Severity: normal
After updating libc6 users lost nis groups.
I verified on a machine which had not been updated for a while. On
request to update libc6, it installed:
libc-bin libc-dev-bin libc6 libc6-amd64 libc6-dev libc6-dev-amd64
libc6-i686 locales
Upgrading from 2.10.2-9 to 2.11.1-2 (that other machine is 32 bit and using a
i686 kernel).
Users had all groups before the upgrade and only local after.
Adding nis after compat to group gets around the problem. Also, it
seems compat is sufficient for shadow and passwd.
