Package: tzdata
Version: 2008e-1
Severity: serious

Hi,

Bug marked as serious as it makes the package uninstallable.
The bug is the following:

Preparing to replace tzdata 2008e-1 (using .../tzdata_2008e-2_all.deb)
...
Unpacking replacement tzdata ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/tzdata_2008e-2_all.deb
(--unpack):
unable to make backup link of `./usr/share/zoneinfo/MST' before
installing new version: Operation not permitted
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/tzdata_2008e-2_all.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

I will go on investigating as it has not been reported before and it can
be due to some local config.

Thanks

Hi,

My filesystem being corrupted was the origin of the problem of tzdata being uninstallable. Closing this bug.

Sorry for the noise
