Bug#449423: Cannot install/upgrade locales due to unmet dependencies

Package: locales
Version: 2.6.1-6
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,

Yesterday, I've dist-upgraded my Sid system which hadn't been upgraded
for a while (maybe for one month, ~700 Mb of packages have been
downloaded). Upgrade of the 'locales' package was not done, due to
unmet dependencies. So, after the dist-upgrade, I tried to
remove/install the locales package, but it still fails:

$ sudo aptitude install locales
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Reading extended state information
Initializing package states... Done
Building tag database... Done
The following packages are BROKEN:
  locales
0 packages upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 4438kB of archives. After unpacking 11.5MB will be used.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
locales: Depends: glibc-2.7-1 which is a virtual package.
Resolving dependencies...

Abort.

Thanks for your help,

Thomas
