Please find, for review, the debconf templates of glibc. This review will last from Sunday, March 25, 2007 to Wednesday, April 04, 2007. Please send reviews as unified diffs (diff -u) against the original files. Comments about your proposed changes will be appreciated. Your review should be sent as an answer to this mail. When appropriate, I will send intermediate requests for review, with "[RFRn]" (n>=2) as a subject tag. When we will reach a consensus, I send a "Last Chance For Comments" mail with "[LCFC]" as a subject tag. Finally, the reviewed templates will be sent to the package maintainer as a bug report, and a mail will be sent to this list with "[BTS]" as a subject tag. Note to glibc maintainer(s): this review is CC'ed to you so that you can comment on the proposed changes before we propose the rewrite in a bug report. Please note that these changes will be reviewed and are therefore *not* the final version. Please take care to send any comment to debian-l10n-english. Comments about the changes I propose: "native English speakers" does not really mean "people whose first language is English". Anyway, this is removed from the templates The first template is simplified. That template was too long for to 80x25 screen, expecially when translated. More generally speaking, the proposed changes are intended to simplify these templates. The explanations about the locale.gen file are somewhat confusing for newbies and do not add much value. After all, this is the package internals and can be documented in the README.Debian file I'm quite unsure about the right English in some places...but other contributors of the mailing list will certainly correct my Frenglish when needed..:-) --
