Package: libc6-dbg
Version: 2.3.6.ds1-13

While trying to debug a threaded program using the libc6-dbg package, I
ran into a completely different behavior then when using the normal
libc6. After some searching I discovered that the default threading
library when using the libc6-dbg package is the old LinuxThreads 0.10,
instead of NPTL 2.3.6 which is shipped with the libc6 package.

I suggest that libc6-dbg is changed to contain NPTL. LinuxThreads is
old and broken.

Except that NPTL does not run on 2.4 kernels which are still supported
by Etch. Anyway it's fixed in versions 2.5-1 and later.
