Package: glibc-doc Version: 2.3.2-8 Severity: normal There seems to be a strange use of exclamation marks to emphasize text in the glibc-doc man pages. This is not how man pages are formatted. Looking at other man pages it seems the nroff code that should be used for these cases is .BR. The exclamation marks are particularly unsightly. If the entries cannot be generated from whatever source the documentation is coming from I would suggest not doing anything at all. Though obviously formatting it correctly would be better yet. An example: .SH DESCRIPTION !pthread_self! return the thread identifier for the calling thread. .SH "SEE ALSO" !pthread_equal!(3), !pthread_join!(3), !pthread_detach!(3), !pthread_setschedparam!(3), !pthread_getschedparam!(3). -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux stark.dyndns.tv 2.4.23-pre4 #1 SMP Sun Sep 21 04:35:38 EDT 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C -- no debconf information
