Bug#338507: nscd: reproduced bug on hppa/parisc apt-get upgrade
Package: nscd
Version: 2.3.6-7
Followup-For: Bug #338507
apt-get upgrade failed for nscd because:
...
Starting Name Service Cache Daemon: nscd.
invoke-rc.d: initscript nscd, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing nscd (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
nscd
...
"start" action failed becuase "stop" didn't actually stop the processes.
Thanks to Thibaut Varene for immediately pointing that out.
He's experienced this on all his architectures (x86/alpha/parisc/x86-64)
Workaround is "killall nscd" and then rerun the upgrade.
