I would've thought so as well... and indeed have been running that way for a few years. The recent GLIBC update, however now breaks that in some circumstances. It wasn't fun to find, and fortunately, I lost no mail because of it - I did however have a huge backlog of locally generated mail because of the nscd aborts (my non-system users are all in LDAP). -- Rick Nelson <robert> i understand there are some reasonable limits to free speech in america, for example I cannot scream Fire into a crowded theatre ..
