Package: libc6-i386
Version: 2.3.6-3
Severity: important

Have been running VMware 5.5.1 on my AMD64x2 system with debian-amd64 (sid)
using ia32-libs with no problems. When I upgraded lsb-core and replace
ia32-libs with libc6-i386 and friends, my VMware installation broke.
Attempted
to do a vmware-config.pl, but it failed several of the vmnet driver
compilation
steps. Restored ia32-libs and everything's fine again.

libc6-i386 does not replace ia32-libs, but only a part of it. So you
still need ia32-libs, which is still available in the archive. I don't
see the problem there.

If the package has been removed during the upgrade, it was probably a
problem during the transition. Now that it is done, it should not be the
case anymore. An upgrade sarge -> sid confirmed me that.

I am therefore closing the bug, feel free to reopen it if need.
