Base System Installation Checklist:
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Initial boot worked: [O]

Config network: [O]
Detect CD: [O]
Load installer modules: [O]
Detect hard drives: [O]

Mount partitions: [O]
Install base system: [O]
Install boot loader: [O]
Reboot: [O]

Comments/Problems:

1) Installer didn't autodetect onboard TG3 NIC. When installer asked me to
specify manually what modules to load, I selected tg3, and the NIC was
detected just fine, and the installation from network using ftp worked well.

2) Locales-package asked what locales to generate, I selected a couple, but
they were not generated.. I had to run "dpkg-reconfigure locales" and
re-select the locales to get them generated. This same bug was also in woody
installer.. I didn't select any tasks / package sets to install when I was
prompted for that.. if it might have something to do with this.

Fine.=A0*This* is the expected behaviour. The en_US locale should have
been generated automatically.

You maybe falled in a temporary bug in one of the d-i packages. Hence
closing the bug report as nothing is going wrong, indeed..

s" manually?

The expected behaviour is not having the user prompted and one locale
being generated.

This locale are based on your language/country choices in the
installer. It becomes the system's default locale.

In your case, you choose en then FI. This gives en_FI, which is an
unsupported locale. In that case, the installer falls back to a
supported locale, based on the language (there is one defined fallback
locale for each language). Hence en_US.

If you choose Finnish then USA, the unsupported fi_US will be replaced
by fi_FI (the only supported Finnish locale) which will have been
automatically generated at the end of the install.

Then high...This is why locales doesn't prompt you.

THis can only be done after the install...or if the install was made
at low priority (or medium...I don't remember the priority used by
locales)
