Bug#248271: nscd freezes on high traffic

We experienced the same thing at our site, nscd would freeze on a
futex for a long time before being able to continue.  A restart of
slapd seemed to unfreeze the system, but of course that made all
requests return an error.

After some testing on several servers we found the problem to be
simply connected to the number of threads allowed with nscd.  It was
set to 6, and we bumped it up to 32 which made it handle the traffic
generated by the script at <http://www.dm.unibo.it/~donatini/linux/
nscd/> with no big problem.  I hope this helps others experiencing the
same issues.
