Because, imho, what is asked by this bug report is that
language/country selections done during the installer be re-used by
the locales packages as soon as it is installed.
As Debian Installer uses the debian-installer/locale value for storing
the user choices besides debian-installer/country and
debian-installer/language, I hereby suggest that locales uses this
value as a default.
For sure, another implication of this bug report is probably that the
locales package should be selected for installation by Debian
Installer as soon as something else than English/USA is chosen in the
Installer.
Joey ? Should we split the bug and assign a "Please mark the locales
package for installation as soon as something else than English (USA)
is chosen" bug to debian-installer or base-config ?
