I can confirm this working with PAX_NO_VSYSCALL on in
linux-2.6.7-grsec-2.0.1 with both:

ii  libc6          2.3.2.ds1-14   GNU C Library: Shared libraries and Timezone

and:

ii  libc6          2.3.2.ds1-14   GNU C Library: Shared libraries and Timezone
ii  libc6-i686     2.3.2.ds1-14   GNU C Library: Shared libraries [i686 optimi

System boots and runs normally with no evident issues.
