I'm also seeing this with chrony.  The problem seems to be that
linux/preempt.h fails to include asm/smp.h.  A workaround is to include
asm/smp.h in the program, but that leads to this:

  /usr/include/asm/mpspec.h:6: mach_mpspec.h: No such file or directory
