Bug#174253: marked as done (locales: locale.aliases don't work anymore)

locale aliases don't work anymore. 
Example (japanese is an alias for ja_JP.eucJP):
[boti@mick boti]$ export LC_ALL=japanese
[boti@mick boti]$ gedit
Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library
[boti@mick boti]$ export LC_ALL=ja_JP.eucJP
[boti@mick boti]$ gedit
[boti@mick boti]$
