I don't follow this.  Are you saying that critical changes are *only*
being made if they're for released architectures?  In that case, how are
you defining "released" architectures?  There are already sarge CD
images available for alpha (they were there before powerpc), but they
are currently unusable *because* of this exact bug (debootstrap fails).

Does this assessment change in light of Jeff's revised timeline (1 week
to experimental, "soon after" to unstable, so probably a full 4 weeks to
testing)?
