When I run it by hand, it runs fine at my setup as well.
Running it as a CGI reproducably fails when I'm using glibc-2.3.2-X but runs fine when using glibc-2.3.1-16 (and all the unstable versions before since beginning of 2003).

Running as a CGI in this case means running it with mod-python as a handler, when I don't use mod-python it runs fine.

I'm running the following packages:
