2.3.1-17

I plan to upload 2.3.1-17. 2.3.1-17 modifies only libc6 postinst and
preinst. The changelog is:

    - debian/libc/DEBIAN/preinst: Add NSS restarting preinstallation
service detection routine and messages. xdm, kdm, gdm,
postgresql, xscreensaver needs user's hand restart.
      (Closes: #165258, #165915, #184036, #184495, #188724)
    - debian/libc/DEBIAN/postinst: Edit NSS restarting messages to
      adopt some preinst messages.

2.3.1-17 provides the fix for long-standing xdm, kdm, gdm,
xscreensaver and postgresql problem. Now libc6.preinst asks whether
you really install new glibc or not when you upgrade from woody to
sarge. If preinst script detects xdm, then the script warns.

You can download 2.3.1-17 from:

	http://people.debian.org/~gotom/2.3.1-17/

And you can download 2.3.1-17 test version from:

	http://people.debian.org/~gotom/2.3.1-17/upgradetest/

This test version removes postinst/preinst dpkg version check, so you
can test postinst/preinst question when you install it everytime.

This version is needed because soon available 2.3.2-1 freezes sarge
again. 2.3.2-1 does not work on hppa/mips/mipsel. Especially MIPS
updates are a lot, so stabilized mips version needs some months. It's
difficult to stop sarge's release if sarge tree becomes stable, so I
would like to prepare this version to fix remaining NSS problems. In
addition, I would like to increase the chance to test my upgrade
scripts. If 2.3.1-17 is put in sarge's tree, then I dupload 2.3.2-1
which fixes a lot of bugs.

Regards,
