Bug#174521: threads leave zombies when they terminate

reassign 174521 noflushd
retitle 174521 threads leave zombies when they terminate
thanks

New information suggests that noflushd or the kernel is more likely than
libc6 to be turning nice happy dying threads into evil undead zombies,
as detailed in #174521.

Although I'd only seen it happen on powerpc when I reported it, new
evidence shows that 174521 is not unique to powerpc. It's reproducable
on stock Debian kernels.

Alexander Clouter (alexander.clouter (at) connectfree.co.uk) made the
discovery that the behavior described in bug 174521 only starts when
noflushd is enabled.

Disabling noflushd and rebooting made this problem go away on systems
that I was seeing it on. Starting noflushd made this problem appear on
systems that it was never before seen on.

The bug has already been reported upstream at
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=695613&group_id=12257&atid=112257
