People! You are all failing to read past threads on this.

THIS IS NOT A BUG! This is how getaddrinfo works! The whole mechanism
was designed to make it transparent for clients/daemons to support IPv6
and still support IPv4.

This abstraction comes at a cost, which this is one of them. You'll all
have to live with it. It has been like this for over year now (since
after glibc 2.1.3 switche dto 2.1.90 in woody).
