math tests

Jeff and Gotom,
I'm not sure how many different arches you fellows are currently
working on at the moment but if you run into math test failures you can
help get those fixed for 2.3. I had about 220 or so all related to the
libm-test-ulps being stale on powerpc. If you have the glibc 2.2.92
in question installed on your machine you can follow the protocol
detailed in...

http://lists.debian.org/debian-glibc/2002/debian-glibc-200209/msg00003.html

...to create a <arch>-libm-test-ulps patch for your arch which should
eliminate all of the false math test failures. For the less common
arches you should forward that <arch>-libm-test-ulps patch to the
libc-alpha mailing list for addition to glibc cvs. Of course the
caveats still apply about installing glibc 2.2.92 on these less well
travelled arches. The absence of a libgcc-compat on those may well
break old binaries. So have a rescue disk handy.
                                  Jack
