there also seems to be a regression in pthreads support for hppa. i'm
using Carlos' updated 2.3 pthreads patch. the ex1 test doesn't
terminate. This sounds familiar, but i don't remember what the fix was
last time....
it seems that pthread_join() is not working in 2.2.93 for hppa. the
threads get started up, and they go through the for loop ok.. but it
doesn't exit.
