upgrade of libc6 impossible

Hi,

I got the following error message when trying to upgrade:
  
  (Reading database ... 7888 files and directories currently installed.)
  Preparing to replace libc6 2.1.1-3 (using libc6_2.1.3-5.deb) ...
  dirname: too many arguments
  Try `dirname --help' for more information.
  pushd: not found
  dpkg: error processing libc6_2.1.3-5.deb (--install):
   subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 127
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   libc6_2.1.3-5.deb

Any hints?
