glibc 2.1 on

Hello,
On the stable (slink) distrib. of debian the c lib is glibc 2.0.7
For some program I would need to have glibc2.1 : The new fast ibm jdk. I
still don't want to update to the unstable distrib of debian. So I
wonder if I can update only the glibc package on my stable distribution.
What would happens? Would it completely break my system?
