AFAIK this is not glibc's fault, it is Stardivision's fault.  StarOffice
5.0 apparently was linked against internal libc symbols and breaks when
running on a system where libc6 is libc6.1.

I am working on an installer for StarOffice 5.0 and one of the things to
do is fix this problem.  I did manage to get StarOffice running, you have
to manually extract the old libc and perform some tricks with ld-linux.

Expect to see more in the next weeks, but if you're really dying to get
StarOffice running, I can tell you more on request (it's a bit of a hack
for now.)
