Subject: libc6: libc6 postinst runs 'init u' but doesn't depend on init
To: submit@bugs.debian.org
X-Mailer: bug 3.1.7

Package: libc6
Version: 2.0.7v-1

If you have an old enough version of init to not have the 'u' option,
the package will not install correctly.

Yes, I really am using slink packages on a system that's 1.3+autoup.
Even if I was using slink, I could have an alternate init package that didn't
provide 'init u'.

I don't actually see why installing libc would really need to trigger init to
re-exec itself either. Certainly a new init might do it, but are there
really changes in libc that init needs to pick up?

Thanks!
