A binary libcrypt is included in the Debian libc6 package, which is not marked illegal to export from the US. I can't find the source package to see if it's in there too. The upstream libc maintainers think libcrypt is illegal to export from the US, and go through considerable hoop-jumping to avoid doing so (source or binary). Who's right? zw
