"man pthread_create" (for example), in the ERRORS section shows error
values in-between exclamation points. Also, in the SEE ALSO section,
references are shown the same way. Here are examples:

ERRORS
	!EAGAIN!
		not enough system resources to create  a  process
		for  the  new thread.

SEE ALSO
	!pthread_exit!(3),        !pthread_join!(3),

As one annoying consuequence, this does not permit Konqueror's man:/ kio-slave to create links for the references.
