Intention to join the Debian GIS Team

Dear all,

I am interested in joining the Debian GIS Project.
I am lucky to have recently joined an interesting project related to
Disaster Risk Reduction,
and discovered many great software packaged by the Debian GIS team.

I notice that pygeoapi has been packaged by the UbuntuGIS in PPA, but
not yet available in Debian yet, though apparently it has been
imported into Salsa at
https://salsa.debian.org/debian-gis-team/pygeoapi .

So, yes, I was wondering if I could contribute by helping getting
pygeoapi into Debian?
