Hi,
I am using TWKB with SQLite input databases for Mapnik data. Its significantly reduces storage requirements (by factor of 2 or so) and has been main format used by OSM Scout Server to provide tiles using raster format for a while. TWKB/SQLite support has been merged a while ago into Mapnik proper (
https://github.com/mapnik/mapnik/commit/9de7397043f98ab4cc41fc406aeca5ec2e130939#diff-90737da03211f5e0c7f01242b0b55fb9
), just into master tree. Its also available as a patch, as in
https://github.com/flathub/io.github.rinigus.OSMScoutServer/blob/master/patches/mapnik/mapnik.twkb.patch
.
So, I wonder, would it be possible to incorporate it into Mapnik version as packaged by Debian until the next major release of Mapnik will come out?
Cheers
Rinigus
