Well, here is what I understand:
- ITK sources are under Apache v2, except a few modules that can
link with FFTW (optional dependency, GPL)
- In OTB, there is one binary (otbapp_DomainTransform) that
links with ITKFFT module.
- In Debian, since ITK is built with FFTW, the whole package is
licensed under GPL
I am not sure what is the Debian policy in such case (mixed
license). I would consider logical that since OTB links with ITK,
licensed under GPL in Debian, then OTB in Debian should also be
released under a GPL license.
However, you can also modify the Copyright description to mention
that the file
Module/Applications/AppDomainTransform/app/otbDomainTransform.cxx
actually links to FFTW and should be GPL v3 (v3 is compatible with
Apache v2).

Guillaume

I may have noticed a mistake on the
license for OTB debian packages.
Since they link with Debian ITK, which is licensed under GPL
(built
using FFTW), the OTB debian packages should be licensed under
the GNU
GPL v3 (for compliance with Apache v2 license).
Can you be more specific?
Note that we only documented the license for the source, not for
the resulting binaries.
