GDAL 2.2.1
GDAL 2.2.1 has been released, and this version will be moved to unstable
when we get the go-ahead for the transition.
SFCGAL support is still disabled, although the new release where the
OpenSceneGraph support is split out into its own library, the slow
development of the project doesn't give enough confidence to enable this
support. It may be reconsidered in the future, like the librasterlite2
support when the new version with the required features is available.
All the reverse dependencies built successfully with GDAL 2.2.1 from
experimental, except rasterio, vtk6 & qgis.
rasterio (0.36.0-2) FTBFS due to an Numpy issue:
CRITICAL:root:Numpy and its headers are required to run setup().
This is probably because python-numpy hasn't been built with Python 3.6
yet. [0]
vtk6 (6.3.0+dfsg1-5) FTBFS due to missing build dependencies:
Depends: texlive-math-extra which is a virtual package and is not
provided by any available package
Dropping the build dependency was sufficient to build the package
successfully, the patch has been forwarded in #866723.
qgis (2.14.15+dfsg-2) FTBFS due to the renamed shapelib symbols, this
was fixed in 2.14.16, but that is still stuck in the NEW queue. With the
two GDAL 2.2 changes from 2.14.16 the package built successfully. qgis
(2.14.15+dfsg-3) will be uploaded to unstable to ensure that qgis in
unstable can be built successfully with GDAL 2.2.1, in case 2.14.16 is
still stuck in NEW when the transition starts.
