Re: OpenStreetMap tile rendering stack in debian-gis

Hello,

I'd like to bring this up again to help move things along...

Mapnik 2.2 is now out and Debian is out of the freeze. So it would be
nice if this could now me updated. By the looks of it, there is
different thread talking about this already though and looking for a
sponsor for the package? So that is great.

Great. If there is something I can do to help, that would be good.

If you do update the package for osm2pgsql, you probably want to use
the 0.82 tag in the repository, as that version is thought to be
stable. We have recently started using tagged versions to help
distinguish between stable snapshots and more experimental ones.

In order to help get mod_tile and renderd into the repositories, I
have now built a set of packages and uploaded them to
mentor.debian.net (
http://mentors.debian.net/package/libapache2-mod-tile ).

I am not yet particularly experienced with packaging, so I would
appreciate any feedback to help ensure it meets all the requirements
and help finding a sponsor.

Yes, that sounds like it would be a good candidate. I wasn't aware of
that until you pointed it out. Should I cross post this email to that
list too?

Thanks,
