I'll remove the versioning in the -dev package starting from experimental, but we need to trigger the status of C++ unofficial API use by at least a couple of packages, i.e. mapserver and qgis in order to finally remove the minor versioning in the libgdal main binary package (i.e. moving to a more sane libgdal<solib_ver> or so). -- Francesco P.
