It seems that the corresponding upstream bug is: https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=52830 (And this may be the same issue: https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=91590 ) Alex Coplan has added a reduced testcase to 52380 derived from the polymake codebase, which ICEs all the way back to GCC 6, so this has been around for a while.
