building current git head kernel with gcc-4.9

make-kpkg --config menuconfig --initrd linux-image 

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

make clean followed by rebuilding current git head kernel with gcc-4.8 worked

   * What was the outcome of this action?

when attempting a cifs mount on AMD64 running a kernel built with gcc-4.9 
I received the following error:
