please file debian reports including these patches, and please file rfq's
upstream containing your current patches.

sure, we can disable java, but currently we have have at least support for gcj
on any architecture, so being able to build jni bindings would help you for your
port, avoiding patches like default-jdk [!or1k]

yes, that should work. and once you have done this, you should be able to build
openjdk-7. probably both need some minor changes.

please do, libffi and libgc show up as basic build dependencies in many more places.
