Dear Maintainer,
I'm trying to build a cross-compiler using gcc-4.8-source, 
following the instructions in debian/README.cross.

I do:
	echo armel > debian/target
	debian/rules control

	dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot

and things churn away for fifteen mini=utes or so, then:
dh_link -plibgcc-4.8-dev-armel-cross /usr/arm-linux-gnueabi/lib/libssp.so.0 /usr/lib/gcc-cross/arm-linux-gnueabi/4.8/libssp.so
mv debian/tmp/usr/arm-linux-gnueabi/lib/libssp_nonshared.a debian/libgcc-4.8-dev-armel-cross/usr/lib/gcc-cross/arm-linux-gnueabi/4.8/;
mv: cannot stat 'debian/tmp/usr/arm-linux-gnueabi/lib/libssp_nonshared.a': No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [stamps/08-binary-stamp-libgcc-dev] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/scratch/peterc/gcc-4.8'
