There is an internal compiler error compiling openbabel. See the build log:

If you need any more information, please let me know. I've not yet tested,
if the same error appears with the latest GCC 4.8 suite.

The problem is due to mayer.d.o not having enough swap, so cc1plus has
been killed. Swap has been added, and the package has built fine in the
meantime. I am therefore closing this bug report.
